The King County Metro Atlantic Base Trolley Bus Yard Refurbishment project consists of the removing and replacing the overhead contact system (OCS). The scope includes installing more than 13,000 linear feet of trolley conductors with switches, curves, and crossovers; 6,200 linear feet of underground and aerial feeder cables; and 63 OCS poles.
Work will be completed in three phases to ensure uninterrupted operations at the yard, which is the only parking and maintenance facility for the system’s electric trolley buses. The project supports King County Metro's goal of having a zero-emission fleet.
